World Heritage Kinderdijk (The windmills of Kinderdijk)
Overview
A short ride from Rotterdam is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the beautiful small village of Kinderdijk. The village has 19 perfectly preserved 18th-century windmills. The area is one of the most visited places in the Netherlands. You can visit the site to watch and enjoy a peaceful picnic, ride a bike and take a boat ride in the canals.
Buying a ticket will let you discover the 3 windmills museums, watch a multi-screen film, see the Wisboom pumping station and sail in the canals along the windmills. You will also get access to audio tours and a map in the Kinderdijk app.
The museums will take you back in time to learn about windmill technology and experience how families lived and worked in the 18th-century.
