Overview
Rotterdam is known for its innovative architecture. The Cube Houses (Kubuswoningen) are a perfect example of modern architecture.
Designed by the Dutch architect Piet Blom, this buildings stands apart as its homes are literally cubes, tilted over by 45 degrees. With their unique cube-shaped upper stories, this block of houses is clearly visible as you walk through the Old Harbor.Â
One of the cubes, the Show Cube Museum (Kijk-Kubus), is open for visitors and explains the design and history of the buildings. You can also spend a night in the cube if you like.
