Frequently Asked Questions
Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit Amsterdam is between April and May or September and November. These are the times right before or directly after the summertime high tourist season. As a result, you’ll enjoy fewer tourists and mild temperatures. During the winter, you’ll find better prices, but expect called weather with temperatures around zero (30 to 40 F). In terms of things to do, you’ll find attractions and endless festivals all year long. April – May: Late spring is arguably the best season to visit Amsterdam. The mild temperatures forecast couldn’t be more perfect for biking around the city and exploring the surrounding countryside. Flowers are in bloom, and if you want to catch the city’s infamous tulips at their peak, aim to visit during the last two weeks of April and the first two weeks of May. It’s also an excellent opportunity to catch the famous King’s Day carnival, held on April 27. June-August: This is the high season, at least in terms of the number of tourists in Amsterdam. You’ll be enjoying long sunny days and warm yet comfortable temperatures. Make sure to book a long time before the trip as hotel vacancy is low during the summer. September-November: In the fall season, there are fewer crowds and relatively mild weather, although it’s pretty cold as we get to November. Fall is a delightful season for travel, and prices are better, but you’ll probably have some rainy days. Pack layers, and don’t forget an umbrella. I love to travel with this fantastic compact umbrella. You can order it from Amazon. Remember to check the weather forecast a few days before the trip and before heading to the airport.
