Overview
Rotterdam’s zoo was selected as one of Europe’s most beautiful zoos! The naturalistic leaving spaces of animals from around the world will take any visitor to an expedition.
In the zoo, you’ll find tigers, elephants, sea lions, red pandas, gorillas, and many more. You can also go “underwater” in the Oceanium, where you’ll meet many marines and coastal animals, including sharks, sea otters, puffins, penguins, and more. Another great attraction as part of your visit will be the Amazonica, filled with butterflies.
If you still have some strengths left or need a mid-day break, pay a visit to the excellent family park, the Plaswijckpark, which features boat and train rides, an adventures playground, plus a petting zoo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rotterdam weather is oceanic. You can expect rainy days all year long. However, the temperature rarely reaches extreme levels. The best time to visit Rotterdam is in the spring and summer since there’ll probably be fewer rainy days, with pleasant weather. The hottest month is August and the coldest month is January.
Remember to check the weather forecast a few days before the trip and before heading to the airport.
Rain could catch you all year long so make sure, even in the summer, to pack a light jacket that can also protect you from unexpected rain.
You can find amazing jackets for men, women, and kids on Amazon (I haven’t personally tested these ones).
