One of the best places to buy just about anything is the Flea Market at Monastiraki. It’s not truly a flea market, except maybe on Sunday when some stores close and people bring tables and sell all kinds of stuff, from junk to antiques. It’s more like a vibrant shopping area with many stores and restaurants everywhere. The neighborhood, located on the Northern side of the Acropolis, close to many popular sites, is a vibrant shopping area. Street vendors and shops many items for tourists, which are usually cheaper than in the islands. If you’re looking for something to eat, you’ll find many casual restaurants to choose from. For a fabulous overhead view of the square and the city, make sure to visit the rooftop bar A For Athens and grab a cocktail!
