The Mauritshuis museum houses a world-famous collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age, consisting of about 800 paintings, 50 miniatures, 20 sculptures, and various drawings and prints. The collection contains works by Rembrandt van RijnJan SteenPaulus Potter, and others.

It also displays one of the most iconic paintings in the world – Girl with a Pearl Earring, by Johannes Vermeer.
